Library & Research Centre

Over twenty-four years the Fort McMurray Genealogical Society's Library and Research Centre has changed locations three times—always to a larger space. In 2008 the library suffered a devastating flood due to a water break and we lost over 30% of our book and periodical collection. The Branch was shut down for years as we dealt with insurance and rebuilding both physical space and our collections.

Today, we have a wonderful area of 1031 sq ft. situated in the basement of the Unifor Building, Suite 9B, 10019 MacDonald Ave, Fort McMurray, Alberta to spread our greatest collection.

Telephone: (780) 791-5663, has message machine

Library hours:

  • Open Wednesday, Noon–2:00pm, and Saturdays 1:00pm till 4:00pm
