Special Interest Groups - SIGS
The Alberta Genealogical Society sponsors Special Interest Groups for its members. SIGs consist of a small group who meet on a regular basis and have an interest in a specific country, geographic region, or subject. It’s a wonderful opportunity to connect with liked-minded individuals, to share resources, watch presentations and assist each other in the challenges of genealogy.
AGS Camrose Branch has 3 SIGS:
Writing Your Family History meets virtually every Tuesday at 10:00 PM. Members submit their writings and receive constructive feedback from the group.
Members Helping Members meets on the 2nd Wednesday of each month at 1:00 PM. This SIG provides an opportunity for members to receive one-on-one assistance with various inquiries, including computer questions, brick walls in genealogy, genealogy software, and organizing genealogy records. Meets at the Camrose County Agricultural Services Building at 4238 37 Street, Camrose
The Researching Military Ancestors SIG meets on the third Wednesday of each month at 1:00 PM. The focus of the meeting is on military research, including the deciphering of soldiers' files and the gathering of the information about the battles they participated in. This group also offers an opportunity for one-on-one assistance with any other questions you may have. Meets at the Camrose County Agricultural Services Building at 4238 37 Street, Camrose.
We also host a Drop-In and Chat session at the Camrose Public Library on the first Wednesday of each month. Members of the public or Branch members can drop in and receive assistance with their genealogy questions.
AGS Edmonton Branch has a variety of Special Interest Groups - see their website for details.
