Canadian Obituaries at the Drouin Institute

The Drouin Institute recently added over 240,000 obituaries to its bilingual website GenealogyQuebec. The website currently hosts over 1.6M obituaries starting from 1999 to 2015. Access to the North American list is available online for a subscription fee.  AGS Edmonton Branch has a subscription in the library to GenealogyQuebec.

The Institute's list of sources stem from over 250 funeral homes and newspapers across Canada, with information obtained from obituaries, cemeteries and death cards. For American researchers, the source list stretches from New Hampshire to California to Florida; even a few years from the Chicago Tribune and Daily Herald in Chicago.
